Ppl who have used both say Wait4Me is better.

 

I'd go with hypertech

 

Something else that I forgot to mention - Wait4Me is a lot cheaper. $75 if you send in your PCM and $159 if you buy one outright.

 

well I had hypertec and I wasnt all to happy with it, so I tried wait4me and was REALLY REALLY unhappy with it
he basically got rid of my shift points, so whenever I put my foot to the floor it wouldnt shift (ever) I sent it back and complained, it came back...the exact same. so now its just collecting dust in my garage and im reusing my hypertec again
check into the flash paq i dont remember who makes it but it seemed pretty decent

 

How come you were so unhappy, when a good 98% of us were overjoyed with the wait4me retune? Some people are just unhappy --- period

 

if you were that unhappy with your w4m tune, why did you not send it back and ask for a refund?

Wait4Me is going to be more comprehensive, Hyper is more user friendly and alows you to read DTCs, but it wont give you that much... Really depends on what you are trying to do? So what are you trying to do?

 

well the number one thing is obviously improve performance
but i really am liking the fact i would be able to set up my own dyno on the hypertech

so i am leaning towards the hypertech
but, if w4m is significantly better performance wise, then i would rather do that

 

i love my wait4me tune, and it definitely gave me a noticeable increase in power and about 2.5 mpg more

 

Went to the site you provided, outfielder101, for the Hypertech PAC and they don't have an option for S10s/Nomas. They do have an option for a 4.3L Silverado but you won't have accurate numbers that way. Looks like this "PAC" was geared more toward the newer full-size tuners. I like the W4M PCM for our 4.3L because you can have more of a custom tune to your specs/mods and not "stages" predetermined by Hypertech.

is there anyway i could get a dyno similar to that while still having the w4m installed?
(the nearest dyno by my house is a couple hours away and overpriced for me)

 

you could always do a Hypertec and an MSD Dash Hawk...

no, just get the standard HTPP III, and the dash hawk, which moniters way more anyways, looks better, and datta logs

 

the dashhawk doesnt support the 01 s10 unless you know of 1 that does

Wait4Me is a tune on the PCM not the OBD2 port. You take your PCM off and send it in for a retune or you buy one outright from them and swap your PCM with the replacement.

 

There is no comparison between the hypertech and the W4M.
I had the programmer, didn't do much of anything that I noticed,when I got the W4M I noticed the difference right off.It's the cheaper way to go for performance,I'm almost sure you will or would be happy with it.

 

wait4me got it love it. hypertech is way over priced for as little as it does. I purchased a PCM from them so i didn't have my truck down for the time it was being tuned. It works perfect.

 

my hypertec was not worth the money.
There i said it.

In fact, after i had it in a few months, i took it out and immediately started chirping tires from 1st to 2nd again.
and this is an automatic.

oh and i didn't have a programmer just a 'street runner' chip
