how fast have you gone??

ok guys I want to know how fast you have gotten your trucks, obviously this is for you people with the governor taken off, by a custom flash, program, chip, whatever. I want to know how fast you guys have gone. When I am on the highway, and remeber I have stick , my governor kicks in and my truck is still pullin good, so I want to know when does it start dying out.

140+ in my 94 4.3 auto sonoma, not actually sure what it was it will top out at 140 then keep going, oh ya thats Kms/H (Canadian here) probly the stock limit of 98mph, but will not be able to reach those speeds safely again 3rd gear has gone in my tranny anytime i go over 120 the tranny starts chewin up the fluid and spitting it out the vent pipe and it drips down the firewall and hits the exhaust manifold and starts smokin like crazy. Very scary the first time it happened thought the engine was over heating.

no problems until he hits a speed wooble. My neighbour has a GSXR 1100 and has only had it going 268 Km/H roughly 170 180mph when he started to speed wooble, scariest ride of his life he says, bike is registered for 300Km/H which is 190mph, and yes it will go that fast had it sittin on blocks and put it to red line.

My dad took a 1969 chevelle ss and put a 454 in it..it had low compression but had some over average parts on it and we went 108 in like seconds it was amazing i dont know about top speed though....but the way i see the import situation....money to make those things go is outragouse my dad had 4 grand in his whole drivetrain and it ran the 1/8 mile in 7.50...that not to bad...how much would it cost to get a ricer to go that?? like a civic or those kinda cars??

Not including the cost of the car, u give me 4k and I can make most cars fast, lets see civic, upgrade the internals and spray the pizz out of it, and pretty much the same for any other car out there, Just ask john what 4k would do for the se-r.

Ok, time to set the record straight, I'm a s-10 owner and have been in the the car while he has beat a vette and was in my truck which was supercharged and saw him go dead lock with a c5 vette, from a distance, cause they blew my doors off. Sorry i didn't have the video camera with me but i can draw you a f'in picture if you want. As a car/truck lover you should know what it's like to put time money and sweat into your ride and should have respect for all respectable cars. I give anyone props that is fast, import or not I just like hauling azz doesn't really matter what i'm in when i'm doing it. If you did any research at all you would see that nissan has there sh#t together and builds strong motors. look... i have mad respect for anything that someone put time and money into. i did my whole truck myself minus the paint. but it just seamed like he was trying to be a dick. maybe i was wrong for getting on his case about being confident. so forgive my dumba$$ im a hothead.:dunce:

i've got about $3,000 in my car now to run an 8.5 in the 1/8 on street tires. I could easily drop a second or more with another grand, I also run on pump gas and still get 28mpg and have every creature comfort availible in my car including a/c. It is my daily driver not just a trailer queen that comes out on weekends that my dad built. :rolleyes: btw..thats a whopping 121 cubic inch motor im running not a 454 cu. in.

dude why are you jumpnig down his throat. he is just talking cars. plus your bragging about dropping three grand to go 8.5 when$350.00 will get you to 8.499 with a mild shot in an SS s-10. So you hate vettes I hate mustangs, whatever just take all these post with a grain of salt and do what you do.

I was not jumping down his throat. he asked how much to make my "ricer" that fast. So I told him. Also I never said I hated vettes? I like them alot. I would really like to see you get a stock ss to go 8.49 with only $350. It is going to take alot more than a "mild" shot to drop 1.5-2 seconds in the 1/8th mile. If it were that easy everyone would do it.

any thing will do 190, but even a stock 1000 will only do like 175, the fast stock bike now dose 186. But if you gear it right, it will do 210. Once you break 175, it becomes airo, or you will not able to ride it that fast.

RIGHT! Damn i guess my supercharger was a waste of money cause I ain't near a 8.5 in the 1/8. I consider mild to be a 50 shot or less you get a s-10 with a 50 shot to go that fast and i'll kiss your :monkey: .

wow...got to love how the entire thread is off topic. But, I have a pretty much stock 2002 S10 LS extended cab with a 4.3. I've had it to the limiter.

and, as for all the off-topic stuff. No, I don't like ricers but, if they're fast, they're fast. But, I also know that if a 1.6 L car can do 8.5 in the 1/8 a mile, then a 4.3L can do that time for less money... the 4.3L engine starts with the advantage. And, no... I don't think that he outran the vette... but i can't really say he didn't either.

also the 4.3 doesn't have an advantage at all. unfortunately the top end on those motors suck. if you are in the area id be happy to take you for a spin. it would change your whole out look.

edited to add: you also have to realize the supporting mods you need for the s-10. It is a truck so there is no weight over the rear tires at all + open differential = wheel spin city. The truck is also alot heavier and isnt as aerodynamic. Don't think I am bashing s-10s because I'm not, I am stating facts. You just have to realize that you have everything going against you. It isnt as easy as you may think to go fast in a truck. It takes alot more supporting mods. The only real disadvantage I have is being fwd but luckily nissan put an lsd in to help. I can still roast them from a 40mph roll in second gear though.

ok dude I am not going to flame on and on but there are SS owners on this sight that are in the mid 8's with a MILD shot (under 100) and rear gears (less than 350 dollers) seen it with my own.

:stupid: just yesterday, i absolutely ROASTED a Mustang (the old, boxy ones) with a 5.0L decal on the side on the interstate. and ive only got a 2.4L. i have to say, i was pretty pessimistic about these little import engines, but Nissan builds them fast and strong. now if i can figure out why the same engine in a Sentra puts out more hp...

In my noma..I hit 97lol..sorry had to say it..My 90 300zx N/A 150 Uncles 73 Nova..blown sprayin 300 shot of VENOM..182 on PCH..and I'm pretty sure of that cuz I got hit with radar..and then got arrested..Felony stops ARE NOT FUN..I dont recomend it:doh:

4.3 vortec K&N drop in, modified air box & tube, traction bars, ud pulleys, 160 therm, B&M shift plus, 3.73, flowmaster w/duals,

I am not going to dime out any driver or tell there business but I have seen the truck with these mods run 8.49@89.8mph on the juice.

Those are your words. All I know is fast s-10 either have 8 cyl. or they are on the juice. Have seen plenty of guys get S/C and not see but .5 in the quarter because of no other mods(exhaust,chip,traction.)
I am in the low nines with roller rockers,bars and all the normal crap. (but I have an SS) so I guess just a S/C and not the rest of the needed mods would be a waist
