Like I said I am finally starting to bag my 84 S-10 ext. cab short box and I have some ?'s.... Is the old body style and new body style fame the same, if not what are the difs? Also What is the best way to set up the fronts? I am waiting for my bags to be in stock and I originally ordered 6" Slam specialties for the front but the salesman told me 7" all the way around would be best, what do you guys think? Also the salesman told me they never put front shocks on s-10's because it limits the turn ratio. Is this true?
My set up as of right now is gonna be 6" bags up front, 7" in the rear, K P Components cantilever kit, 2 thomson compressors, 2 7 gal tanks, and 1/2 valves and line. Let me know what you think.

1st Gen and 2nd Gen frames are the same (for the most part, everything else you don't have to worry about)...

6" Slam Specialties bags are plenty for the front. 7" SS bags would require you to cut out more of the spring pocket...

You really should run shocks, no matter what anyone says. The shock relocators do limit your turning radius, but if you buy proper size wheels with the proper backspacing it is not much of an issue.

Which Thomas compressors are you going to run for two 7 gallon tanks? I would run two Thomas 317's or 327's for one 7 gallon... If you want two 7 gallon tanks, I would run two Viair 450's instead...

I think you mean Thomas compressors. If you are getting those, you won't be able to play a whole lot because they are not continuous duty compressors. Why have you decided to go with Slam specialties bags?? You won't be able to hop. Also, size bag in the front doesn't matter, cuz you are going to get the same amount of lift either way. If installed properly, shocks may only limit the turn ratio by 1/8" or so.

The shop I get the stuff from lined me up with the thomas compressors and the slam specialties bags. They used to sell Viair but the say they had prob with them. What do you think I should run?

You just got bagged phat...wait a lil bit....unless you like to ride with the front all jacked up....

take a look in the Fast Baggin' thread for a post on shocks.

As far as bags...Firestone 255c's (2500's) should work just fine for ya. If you want a slightly better ride, and don't mind cuttin the **** outta the spring pocket, go for 224c's (2600's).

i do kinda like to ride with the front jacked all up, cuz then people look at you funny and then you drop it on their ass and they are like oh $hit. But i might run them later, the main reason i didnt run them now was because i wanted to get finished.

to me the Slams are better cuz they dont expand past there normal diameter (with no air) ever... and they also have a bump stop built in that keeps them from totally collapsing on itself... and they get an additional inch of lift over the firestones!

so IMO Slams over stones

:stupid:

Also...yes slams dont expand past thier set diameter...however, slams are good for hopping. And I don't think that is the case here....also, stones have been the industry standard for 15+ years, and slams are still fairly new and still having their share of problems. If anything, I'd go with Air Lift 2B6 Extends or 2B7's before slams.

And why does that matter ?
well in my case.. the rear bag and braket are over axel and I only have about 1/3 inch before it starts to rub on either the 4 link I got from JPKustoms or my notch... not a whole lot of room so if it expanded past its normal diameter I would rub....... but like I said in the post its IMO and on a case by case basis... I have nothing against Stones.... I just like the Slams

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was just wanting you to explain the basis behind your opinion, thats all.
Oh I know.. I hope I didn't come off defensive... I spend alot of time speaking to Col and Generals so I tend to overexplain and make an azz of myself... I know you would not be rude to a *potential customer* haha
