Well I know that the ford 8.8 rear end is about 5-6 inches wider than the stock 7.5/7.625 s10 rear end, I don't know anything about the extreme rims though, do they have different offsets at all as opposed to the stock s10 rims. When I swapped over to the ford 8.8 my rear tires now stick out pretty far in the rear, enough to where I can't lower my truck.

In order for the wheels to fit you will need to redrill the rotors and axles. To have the wheel fit the truck properly the 8.8 needs to be narrowed.

You can use a Fox body(mustang) 8.8,redrill rotors and axles and of course weld on leafspring pearches....Dont expect performance gears since mustangs have 2.73,3.08 and 3.27 ratios

You will have to do some work, its not too bad....measure 10x if needed

hmmm...damn....thanks for the help guys...

i already have my truck lowered 3 in the back, sooooo that wouldn't work then if you can't lower it as is??

how would i go about narrowing the 8.8 rearend..? take it to a shop and have them do it..how costly is that? that's if anyone knows...

thanks again guys!! :)

If your unsure about doing it then deffinently take it to a shop. Ive never narrowed a rear end, but if you can weld and have some fabrication skills then im sure you can cut the axle tubes. You would have to have a shop set up your axles.

thanks guys for the help, appreciate it...i guess i should ask around to find out what the total cost of having that work would be against just taking my rearend to get posi and some gears installed would be..?

i currently have the stock 3.08s, and want something in the 3's still...i'd settle for 4.10s if that's what came stock on a explorer or what not...but if i had my choice i'd do 3.73s
