this is the cheap answer i;ve been looking for ....i have a 96 LT1 camaro i bought the non foulers put on both side because i mine has to cats.. that are not on the car ..lol.....reset the comp it has not come back on..... thank for this long needed fix.........

 

just got done reading this whole thread, very interesting. im driving a 1993 S10 OBD1 with the 2.8V6. i only have the one O2 before the cat, if i remove the cat should i have any problems without doing this mod?

 

Yeah if you don't have a sensor after the cat you don't have to change anything when you remove it. Trust me you want that single o2 sensor functioning properly to keep your truck running right.

 

ok update, a 9/16" drill bit works a lot better than a 1/2" . you can get a 9/16" bit anywhere too. so use a 9/16" drill bit

Is this for the Downstream O2 senor, I have a hi flow cat and after a year I throw a P0420 error code. I am a noobie so take it easy on me!!

 

yes, down stream only.

the pre-cat o2 read rich/lean of the eng. disabling them will cause major driveability issues.

 

get a 9/16 drill bit too if you can find one.i just did this mod the other day.

 

Can I do something to my 98 2.2 it only has 1 o2 on the manifold

I have a 98 and it has a downstream, Yours must have been altered because that is not stock.

 

your 98 has an o2 after the cat or should. DO NOT MESS WITH THE ONE IN THE MANIFOLD. only the one down stream of cat.

I put one on my 99 blazer when i gutted the cat on it. SOME on here say they need 2 to keep the light out and some say 1 works. SO it looks like 1 will work fo ryou.

idk about anyone else but when i did this i had to use a 9/16ths bit

 

Step drill literally works perfect for it.

I had to do this awhile back. I had my Magnaflow cat for a year before the code started popping up. Did this and no code ever since.

 

ok i got the 42002 non fouler last night and attempted this, but as i discovered i only had wood drill bits and attempted to use them but no go i messed it up. so then i chopped the o2 back and it screwed in put it all together and it didnt work.

today i bought another o2, 1/2 metal bit, and new fouler. this time i drilled it right, and the new sensor fit perfect i even applied anti-seize to all the threads im hoping it works. i got it all together and now battery is disconnected will it reset the codes? how long should i leave it off?

 

I'm pretty sure it will reset them as soon as the battery is disconnected.

 

ok i had the battery off for 2 hrs hooked it back up flipped key to on and SES still on (didnt even crank motor) i drove it around town and on high way and still wont go off its really pissing me off i did it right i know i did

 

Go to autozone and get one of their tools to read and clear the codes. Could be something else?
