let me know what you guys think about this? what if you where to get a 4 link and mount one set of bars from the front spring perch to the axle. using the same bracket on the axle mount the other set of bars to the rear spring perch. we were just brainstorming and a friend came up with this. not sure if it would work or not:lnv:

I see what your saying, but doesnt that take out the angled bars? and if you did that you could have side to side movement of the axle. But I guess its kinda like a parallel 4-link.

ummm the way you word it your using the same piviot point (bracket) on the axle to mount forward and reverse bars...
you would have to have one below and one above the axle which wouldnt work because the one above would bottom out on the frame before you could achieve full drop. on top of the need for a panhard bar and im not going to bother thinking how it would affect pinion angle...

Cuz on a 4 link, 2 bars have to be on top of the axle, and two bars have to be underneath. This is to keep the pinion angle straight and correct. If you guys dont' know much about driveline geometery or rear suspension systems, I would highly suggest you do not attempt to make one. It could result in your injury or death.

I think he is talking about using the same bracket... on a parallel with panhard it still uses the same bracket it just goes around the axel....

Back when Alter Images was in the works they came up with this

New S-10 Bolt-on 4-link. DUDE It works SWEET!
Available now with or with out the rear cantilever attachments. For those of you that already have an Alter Images Bolt-on 4-link. You can now buy the Bolt-on, Cantilever attachment, for more lift. Give Alter's Tech support a call for any and all questions you might have on installs, applications, and ride quality. That's right we build then use it on our own daily drivers for that extra assurance that everything is going to be safe and worry free

My question is, why??? are you trying to create something no one else has?? because at the cost of building that one, you could have a nice 4-link, with no problems or things that could go wrong, or is that just me?

well triangulated is what stops the side to side motion... and they bars arent' the same length as the lower bars.... so it stops the axel from rolling in motion... so if its the oposite of the lower parallel bars then its gonna pull on the axel when it goes up and down.... and really now that I think about it so would a all around parallel....

when the 4 linkholds the axel in place during up and down motion the axel doesn't move straight up and down it sort of move at an angle..... its like if the mounting point of the 4 link are the center of the circle the axel moves around the center point.. so if there are two center points to the circle then the axel would have to move straight up and down..... does that make sense???

I'm gonna totally disagree with you here....... we are all trying to be unique here... no one wants to see two trucks alike.. if we did we would all be that dredful thing.............................STOCK!!!

this isnt for my truck it's for a friend's. he doesnt want to move his gas tank and he wants all his tanks/compressors underneath the bed. we were trying to come up with ways to get around it and he came up with this and i couldnt really tell him why it wouldnt work.

oh yeah, im getting a triangulated 4 link with all the bars forward
