If it was where the dash blank was like space for an optional feature button, its commonly a space where an installer will drill out a round hole for an alarm LED.

Picture?

Some of the pushbutton 4x4 models had that there stock IIRC...... Other factory installed switches were installed in the blanks.

I was assuming there was some kind of switch there, a picture would help to identify what it is if it is stock, probably not if it is aftermarket......

you talking the switch next to that red one ifso its for the rear defrost on a blazer or jimmy

yea thats the spot next to the red one but does a single cab with sliding rear window even have a rear defrost

Could be the lightswitch mounting studs broke, they picked up that little bezel from the scrapyard......

#16 ·
ya who knows later first gen dashes dont seem to be built like the 82-85 dashes

#17 ·
yea thats true im not sure if its stock or not but my neighbors 89 has a switch in that hole that controls the fan under the hood or somthing

#18 ·
ok that's not stock because they use mechanical fans.

#19 ·
If its a round hole its not stock. The ones from the factory all had rectangle switches in them if they had switches at all. No matter the switch function it still looked basically like the one on the left of that red switch in the photo that was posted.

Def not a stock switch.

Stock fog would have been an added switch panel under that as was power mirrors and some suv defogger. Up there would be 4wd, and and some defogger if I recall.
If your truck was basic, there was nothing there. I would guess that was from a once installed fog lamp kit or something like that

It really depends on the options. Some had a switch for factory fogs, trucks had the cargo light switch, and coulda been a 4x4 button.

4x4 blazers optioned out did have the power mirror switch and fog light in a wedge under the cluster ends.

2 factory switches, with the add on factory switch under the cluster
