I know it's not much of a story since I was racing a riced out 2001 Altima, but I thought I'd tell it anyway. So I'm on my way to Advanced Auto to get a few parts I need and up ahead of me I see a black Firebird and a 2001 riced out Altima kinda racing each other. I say kinda, b/c the firebird could leave that Altima in the dust if it wanted to.
I get up ahead of them after a few lights and get stopped at one red. I see both of them pulling up behind me, and the Altima pulls into the clear lane beside me. He inches forward and I slightly tap the gas. I can tell he's ready to race. Now, this is one of the ugliest cars I've seen. He has the frenched licence plate in the back with the most God-aweful spoiler I've ever seen. This thing sticks above his roof!! Making things even better, he has a huge fart can in the rear, so he sounds like a friggin lawnmower. At green I get a great launch and he squeals his tires, so I'm already a car length ahead out of first gear. From then on, all I did was lengthen my lead. I beat him out by about 4-5 car lengths by the time I have to throw on the breaks to turn into Advanced Auto. Of course, the firebird just blows by both of us probably thinkin' we're idiots. Twas a good race I'd say.
btw, half the race was going partly uphill, so he had a definite weight advantage. He must have had the inline 4.
