Hey I just went to get my baged truck aligned at ride height. I set it at 100 in the front and 80 in the rear. Well they said that the truck lower 1 inch than the other side. So I had to set my bags at like weird settings just to have them align it. Anyway here is the question.... I have about -1 degree of camber on the ride side. Is that really that much to mess with alignment? The -1 degree of camber is only when im at my ride height. Any of you have problems at these places?

Well it took him a while because he used shims to even out the camber problem. The thing is I set it at like 100 in the FL 105 FR and 80 RL and like 50 RR. They said that it measured like off and 1 inch or 2 on the right side lower. Is it really worth getting an alignment done even though its set at these settings? It doesnt seem right that the truck with equal amount of psi in the front lags on the right side an inch. I got the alignment done at les schwab.

heres the deal as far as alignments go. most shops that charge about $60-70 for an alignment are simply doing a toe-and-go which basically means they dont care how far your camber/caster are out. If you want to have a complete alignment done chances are your gonna pay $150-200 because its usually based on an hourly rate. How much did you pay for the alignment, and how long did it take? even though i deal with alignements on a daily basis at my job, when it comes time to get mine done, ill be paying someone to do the caster and camber because it is a complete pain in the ass.

$150-$200 is ridiculous. I get all done for around $36 to $50 depending on the place. And yes they adjust the shims and everything.

it isnt ridiculous at all considering the amount of time it takes. im not sure who in their right mind would do it for $50 unless they had no idea of what th ey were getting involved with.
How about Sears and Pope Davis. And they both give me printouts of what it was before and after.

It cost me 60 bucks over there and took like 2 hours to do. They set my cast and camber for me. My friend told me that s10 got a slight lean to them as well. My alignment seems fine cause the wheels stays straight and im not all over the road. The camber is what they warned me about. They said 1.3 degree of vamber will messup my tires. I dont think they will. Do you guys get a lot of camber change on air?
