Me and my father were both wondering what decent alarm to get. I told him about the ones that page you when your shit is getting broke into, and he liked that idea. We were wondering how much a decent pager alarm is, and if you have to pay for that service monthly?

Thanks

well DEI, autopage, audiovox. all are good. A regular 2-way alarm you do not need to pay any charge for. However there are add-on modules for autopage and DEI that can give you email notices and phone notices with the alarm is going off. There usints do charge a monthly or yearly fee.

Im getting an autopage for about $450 installed this week and have only heard good things but my girlfriend just got the Sky Tech I think it's called for $200 installed w/2way. Sky Techs are faily new but it works great. It will page me at work 4 floors up and on the opposite side of the building when it's set off or warns. Also had it page me at the back of a department store.

It all depends on the shop if they will install one you do not buy from them. None of the "big box" stores will install ones they dont sell. So you may want to look into the shop and see if the will do an internet one. If its a good name alarm (DEI, autopage, audiovox) you would have a better chance that the store would install it. if its a cheap one they may not.

Not to mention the only warranty they may give you would be on the install (some may not do that though). And then it can be a headache to get the alarm fixed.

Viper alarms are good right? I went to Best Buy and told the guy I wanted an alarm for after I get my door/dash speakers in and he said it'd be $385 installed and there's another for like $400+ but I'm going with the $385 because the other just adds a nice screen on the keychain that blinks and tells you what's going on, not too crazy about that haha.

Both the ones he told me about are Viper, and from what I hear Viper alarms are pretty good?

I HAVE A 791xv sitting on my bookshelf ready to be put in as soon as I have a free day. I searched alot and the vipers are pretty good. What I liked about it is its a remote start, turbo timer, you can add alot of different modules to it like radar and you can program it to put up your windows, open your sunroof, pretty much everything. You can get them for around $175 or so.

yes viper is good. dei
