Adding keyless entry to a 1990 jimmy

I searched and didn’t find anything for the 1st gen trucks. I’d like to add keyless entry/rear window pop to my jimmy. What is needed to do this? I’ve seen posts about BCMs etc but I’m pretty sure this truck won’t have one.
I don’t have a problem with wiring anything as long as I can find which wires do what.
My truck already has power locks and rear window release.
Thanks in advance

Should be able to install a Viper kit relatively easily if you just ignore all the alarm functions included with one. You'll likely have to gleen the instructions included to not install all the bells and whistles. The security and remote start functions you aren't asking for are where the installation problems usually occur.
I recommend Viper because of their quality and reputation.
I've had nothing but trouble with cheaper brands installed in trucks I've bought.

BCM's are 98 up. Be glad you don't have one.

On the other hand, I bought an el cheapo "Big Hawks" unit off ebay for around $15 and it has served me well for two years now. The difficult part is figuring out how to wire it. I had to tie in to the wire harness where the two door lock switches are connected. For my 94, that connection is in the passenger door. So, I had to run my wires through that rubber covering where the wires go into the cab and string them across underneath the dash to the driver's side. I just tied into the headlight switch to make the parking lights light up when I lock/unlock. I didn't bother connecting the horn.

If you're going to pay the $100+ for a viper, just let the shop where you buy it install it.

Bump as I’m getting serious about doing this while my dash is somewhat apart. All I can see is a tan and a grey wire for the lock solenoids.
I’m assuming I can split these and wire in the keyless unit. I don’t care about the progressive lock option, horn, lights etc. I just want to be able to pop my locks from a fob.

Any other tips? I’m hoping someone that did this can tell me where they wired in. As posted above your connector was in the RH door. I have it under the dash on the RH side. No rear easy way to get it down enough to splice.

TIA
