I have a 94 s-10, 5sp, 2.2 with 288k miles on it and my water temp sender is faulty. I probably have the dirtiest engine in the werld! My temp guage is always ice cold; (even tho the water is hot,,,heater werks). This is the same sender for the ECM; so,,, the computer thinks that the truck is always hot and causing the engine to run very rich, and other probs. I 'think" the sending unit is probably on the passenger side of the head??? I am old and I cant see very good. There is a GAZILLION dirty wires under the plenum and i cant see nothin. Please help me,, exactly 'where' is it??
Thanks in advance for helping a poor, lazy bastard.

Look at your engine... see where the coolent hose comes out of the engine and goes into the rad? Right below that is a conn and like small metel pipe that goes to your heater core and right below that, there is what your looking for. It's called a coolent switch and I believe the part # from autozone is TU178 it has 3 wires that go to it. Hope this helps
