Is it possible to get a 327 crank for a 4 bolt main block. The block is from a 79
pick up and was a 350. It had a spun bearing and if I can get a 327 crank that would fit I would prefer that.

It is, but if you're willing to lay out some cash. Since the 350 and 327 have different journal diameters, you would have to try to find an adapter(which I'm sure is out there somewhere). The question is, though, is it really worth it? It would really be easier to go with a 400 crank and build a 383 stroker.

i think clevite77 or felpro make spacers so you can fit a 327 crank in a 350 block. if they dont make em check out comp cams they might have em

After 1968 the 327 had the same size journal as the 350 thus
making it a large journal 327. I have a 1963 327 and it has the
smaller journal size, making it a small journal 327. I agree that
instead of spending the money to make the 327 crank work I'd
spend the money on the 383.

You may want to check-out www.mortec.com for the journal
sizes.

I thought in the back of my mind that there were large journal 327 's
made. This engine is just for my weekend cruiser not really for serious racin. I
just would like to have a 327 for sentimental reasons. The first project I ever did was putting a 375HP / 327 in my 72 Chevelle with my Grandfather and since this will probibly be the last project he will see me working on I just thought it would be cool to recreate that engine .

:D Now thats what I'm talkin bout. I plan on basing mine on the old 327/375 Hp
vette motor. Sort of an updated version , but thats the cam profile and bottom end I want to build.
