03 ZR2 4x4 pushbutton lights all on, stuck in 4x low range

Tonight I went down an old log skidder road to recover my friends swamped Z71. I ended up pulling him out of the hole he swamped his truck in, and his truck never would crank up. So I pulled him through several holes back out to the road. When I attempted to push my 2x button for 2 wheel drive all the indicator lights were on. It wouldn't shift back out of 4x low range. It's still in 4x low range with all the indicator lights (2x high, 4x high, 4x low) still on.
How do I get it back in 2 wheel drive and get the other lights to go off?
Thanks,
Mike

I didn't last night before you posted but I did today and that fixed it. After reconnecting the battery it's back to 2wd with the other lights out.
Thanks pjg1173!!!
I was thinking maybe something was full of water after all the crap I went through (see these pictures), but it's all back working right now so I'm happy. :)

So tonight I went down that same road in 4x high range. After I got back to the gravel it would not shift back into 2X. Only the 4x high range light was on but it wouldn't shift to 2x or 4x low range. I disconnected the battery again and that solved the problem. Back to 2x no problem. So what's my problem with not shifting without disconnecting the battery.
There's a lot of water in these holes. A small hole I took a video of here.

x2 need to do some diagnostics. IDK if that link is applicable to your vehicle though since its ODBII. thats nothing compare to the stuff I go through and I havent had one problem with mine.

Thanks for the link pjg1173.
When I test for codes with a jumper as described in your link (jump pin #13 to chassis ground), I get code 1 - (1 blink every 3 seconds).
It says this is normal:
"Code "1" is "RAM standby power" and is considered normal, may be caused by clearing the codes."
My scanner shows no code history for a circuit pertaining to the transfer case. Screen capture seen here. But note my scanner list "No Response From Module" for the transfer case circuit.
Does anyone else see the same thing when scanning in this mode?
(My scanner is Autoenginuity v10.0.3 with GM enhanced interface.)

Also my data stream shows "Dissabled" for "4WD Low Signal" and "4WD Signal".
Alldata shows this to be a normal value under the conditions given (closed loop, at operating temp, ect.)(screen capture here) I don't know? Is this correct?

Time for a new TCCM, i think theres a way you can repair it your self if you can solder.

You'll have to go a little slower for what's left of my old brain. Yes I can solder, and braze, arc, mig, tig, glue, staple, and lick stamp glue but before I spend the $ for the parts I'm wandering at which point of the diagnostic process did we determine the TCCM is the culprit? Sorry for the hesitation but I'm kind of a stickler for that old measure twice - cut once thing, especially on my budget. :)

EDIT=- corrected HTML code

With what you described the problem being. When stuck in 4lo and deserting it gets you back to 2hi then sticks in 4lo again. The TCCM is bad. You can replace a relay inside it or replace the tccm. Or just keep unlocking the battery till this no longer works. Or replace the encoded motor to find the problem is still there, then replace the tccm. Been there many times and your description has ALWAYS very many times been the tccm. I've replaced many of them. Not all my trucks either.

Okay then I'll try replacing that relay 1st and hope for the best.
#1, I guess I'll need a part# for it and where do I order the relay from?
Thanks for the help!

I'm leaning twards the TCCM being bad also. TCCM's can be had at a pick n pull for cheap. I really would just swap the whole thing out. before going that route I'd take the connector off the encoder motor and check to make sure water isn't getting in the connector and causing a short or anything. also remove the encoder motor and clean the surface between it and the case and reassemble. if it still gives you problems I'd swap out the TCCM.

I replaced the TCCM with one from a salvage yard and it's shifting fine now. Thanks!
