Gotta 99 s10 and the passkey system is locked up on it.. I tried leaving the key fwd for 15 minutes to unlock it, but the security light is still on ... anyone have a f'n clue how to unlock this thing?

As I understand it, you turn the key to make it crank (it won't start) and then leave it in "run" for 15-30 minutes and then it should work.

If it was working and suddenly isn't, you may need to replace the BCM module. Or pull the lower dash panels in front of the console and check to be sure the plugs are all seated firmly in the BCM. If something pulled loose or a wire is shorting, that might cause the problem.

Double check the fuse box(es) for any blown fuses.

Tried to reset it with the key fwd already ... unplugged the bcm... the ecm.. the ecu ... the battery ... + and - ... even tried convincing it in a nice soothing voice... no luck .. LOL ... replace the bcm u think?

Do the remote door locks work? If not, check the "TBC" fuse in the underhood box. That might cause it if it's bad.

Other than that, all I can figure is either the BCM went bad or maybe the passlock sensor at the ignition switch. Maybe it's not reading the chip in the key or something?

Can you get the BCM tested at a dealer?
