well since a 255 fits an 8.5" wide rim PERFECTLY its because its about 10" wide overall (8.5" wide rim is 8.5" wide between the outer rim surfaces, which are each about 1/2" wide so thats another inch of width, and then a 255 overlaps the sides of the rim by about 1/4" on each side. 8.5" plus 1" plus 1/2" equals 10")

But really if you think about it....if your current rims are 8.5" wide putting a wider tire on it shouldn't effect it all that much. Trust me, your tires will like you more if the sidewalls aren't stretched lol
hmm.. maybe ill go that route.. I just didnt want to lose any turning radius.. But what your saying is making sence.

good to hear

i like to see decently wide tires at all 4 corners on a bodydropped truck...it just looks goofy to me when you pop the hood and see some 215s or some skinny ass tire in there

thanks for the compliments guys.. Derek your truck looks badass.. cant wait to see it in person.. looks like a totally different truck. I love it.

small update.. Sheet metal bed is just about done.. i have 1 last piece of sheet metal to lay on the floor. And theres to areas where i joined 2 pieces of metal that need to be filled, because i didnt cut them perfectly striaight. I started building the hinge setup for the trap door.. Where the pumps used to be, the floor will have a trap door so i can have access to my battery rack and solenoids. This way i can still somewhat use my bed. Im also going to be buildign a pump rack to mount the pumps in the front of the bed, behind the cab.
I kinda screwed up cutting out for the wheels. But no biggie. Im gonna fix it, and its gettin trailer fenders anyway. so no big deal.

Heres where im mounting the pumps. Im making a rack for em, so they wont be bolted to the bed floor directly..

You want a little steel dome you could weld to your hood to cover your air cleaner?
Or do you like the hole?
im doin a weber swap. it will lower the air cleaner a bit, and ican fill that hole in. was either gonna be that, or do an eclipse hood bubble over it.. but i just wasnt sure how good it would look.

4x4 fenders and beds kickass....ive always thought they looked better....by anychance do you go on mazdabscene? lotta info on these trucks there....are you getting rid of the taillights or keepin stock?

truck looks good. i like the 4x4 bed and fenders. i found an old mazda and after reading this it really makes me want to go look at it. i think the wife would kill me if i got another vehicle though.

thanks for the compliments guys..

ya i post on mazdabscene.. And im keepin the stock tails for now. until i figure out what im going to do. I like LED's but im afriad of getting hassled by cops. and even rearended, since LEDS are so small, there harder to see for normal people.. I want to think of something original, Yet good looking.. was thinking blazer tails, or colorados.. Only thing is, with the tailgate welded shut, id need to figure out a way to mount the lights from the outside or something..

Thanks bro.

Painted my tanks on my pumps.. looks a million times better. Painted the cylinders too. and started smoothing hte notch out. I need to pick up a wire wheel and a can or 2 of brake cleaner and just go all out.. the shit thats on it is like an undercoating, not a paint, So when i use a regular flap disc or grind wheel, it just cruds it up, and it wont grind anymore. So i think a wire wheel, and a can of brakecleen will work real good.

Im painting the frame silver. so i painted the tanks, and cylinders silver, and im going to paint the coils red. i think it will look pretty good.

Also finished up the rack for my pumps. I just need to weld on the tab for the other pump. Its just basically a triangle out of 1x1, and its welded to the bed floor. seems really strong tho. the pump doesnt even move whe i try to shake it.
