My truck is a '94 Blazer - the one in the avatar - with the 4.3 CPI. I've been trying to get the A/C to work, and I finally got the compressor to spin by jumpering it straight from the battery, but the air coming from the vents still isn't cold. Still, the compressor spun easily and quietly.
Running a jumper across the connector at the accumulator doesn't cause the compressor to spin, but does seem to cause a slight change in engine sound, like it's acknowledging a change in the electrics.
So, what electrical parts are in the chain between the interior climate controls and the compressor, and which should I check first? Is there a relay, and if so, is there a similar jumper wire trick for testing it? I'm getting closer to solving this, but I still need some ideas on why the compressor doesn't come on when I switch on the A/C.
Thanks.
