it depends, but it won't sound bad unless you don't have a very good quality ported box. What amp do you have for them and what type of music do you listen to?
Ported enclosures are more efficient so you will be noticibly louder with the L5s in the correct ported box instead of the correct sealed box.
A downside is the box will be larger.
i have the kx1200.1 so i have to run them in a serise and the box size dont matter as long as it will not take up the back seat also i thoucht about duplicating the kicker ported box i already have and doing it like that cause it sounded good but the subs were $90 each and a free box so i could not ltet it pass
ok so i cant find any box ideas on the internet and i am going to try to build the box this weekend so if you can give me an idea of a good wave box that would be cool or a good page to go to for ideas
find out a medium range ported spec for thos subs like 2.5 cubes each tuned to 32 and then measure your cargo area in your truck and use some enclosure and port tuning calculators.
