They are pretty up to about 150,000. Thats when that pilot bearing starts to go out but if you drive in 4 in can buy u some time until u have to fix it.

what excatly are you asking ?? weak as in will it last long in a mostly stock truck, should. provided you don t beat the hell out of it, will it stand up to drag racing with nitrous or a blower i seriously doubt it, it will last a little while just all depends how hard you are on it. i know brett is still running the stock 5 speed with a high h.p. motor, but he has also said he hasn t been able to run it at the track like he wants to. i can t speak for everyone but mine lasted about 6 months after i put a supercharger on it, and i wasn t that gentle on it either it all depends on your driving style. but if you want something better for performance go with the auto and have it built, or get a manual and swap in a 6 speed all about what you want. hope this helps ya

my friend destroyed his tranny when he was stock!!! Oh yeah, it was an 01 with less than 13k miles on the truck. Gm replaced it alone with the clutch and it has seemed ok ever since (even with the powerdyne).

Well was he doing burnouts at everyother stop lights and hard on the clutch. My runs just fine and I don't dog it all the time but every once in a while I got to show what the v-6 will do to all the little ricers around town.

sometimes it wont go back into first if im rolling a little bit like less than 5mph and i yell and scream and jam it in there hard as hell.
There is a switch in there that won't let u do that so u won't blow the motor up but thats only when u going fast but below 5mph there is something wrong. Maybe a sincronizer.
