just emagine you activate the system and you only have a push bottun and you are in idle and accidentaly hit the bottun BBBBBOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM . The push bottun isn't an bad idea but if you would use it in WOT why not put it in serie with the WOT switch . So when you activate the nitrous and if your not in WOT and push the bottun it will not flow nitrous .

Either one is fine, I was just making a point. Not trying to start **** are anything. Like, Calgary SS has said it's your prefrence. If you have a stick then yes WOT. Since you don't that's why I was saying push button. Even if you did have push button your not going to spray off the line. At least I hope not if your on street tire's.

You are a complete idiot if you hit the button by accident. That's just like saying, "imagine if you are racing on the street and there's water under you. You accidentally floor it off the line, then BBBBOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM." When you are lined up to race, it's more than likely in your hand. That way you can have both hands on the wheel. Don't forget you can mount the switches anywhere. Also you can have the switch come out so you can hold it in your hand. Anyways, it just boils down to how you want your set up. So have you made your decision yet? Either way, good luck! Your about to enter a whole new world of racing!

I'm new to this NITROUS thing I bought a NOS kit and have both a button and a wot switch. I am going to go to an auto tranny to get the full effect but I read up on this stuff and want all the safety feachers possiable and recomend that to anybody.

I agree with with xtremenx there is no need to buy a wot or a window switch. If you have a button more than likely you aren't going to accidently turn your system on and accidently hit your button, right. Matchstick (my brother) has put over 50 kits on for other people or himself and he has never have a wot or a window switch. Thanks for pointing the NOS thing out to him, thats one of my biggest pet peeves also, and it seems like everyone that knows nothing about it always calls it that! nx or tnt kits are the best, make sure you get a wet kit though, they are the best. oh well, just my 0.02.

No prob, everyone always listens to the idiots, no offense to the other people, lol. :nono: They never seem to listen to the people that have been around the spray.

Its all about you. If you feel like you want to use all of the "saftey components" then have at it, I'm just say that if you have a automatic then why would you need a window switch? Its not like your going to miss a shift or anything, right. The thing about a WOT switch is if your truck spins really bad on the spray when your on the floor but not so bad off the bottle then you could spray it say, 10-20 ft down the track and make it hook , which inturn you have faster passes.:smoke:

So say I was using a WOT switch... N/A with my truck there is no point in going beyond about 5000 rpms because there is no power there. would it be bad to be WOT then lift a little to force the shift and then back to WOT again? Thanks for any info..

I'm saying, spray it until it feels like its going to spin or is spinning and let out of the button, that way you lose less rpms and as soon as it stops spinning lay into that slut again. Like I said before, if you want it, have at me. Me personally, I don't think you need all of that stuff on an automatic, maybe you think you do. If you want it have at it. I will just spend the money I saved on something else. And why would you want to let out of your truck and let it shift went you could just let go of the button and lay into it agian? We will always have our won opinion on this subject and every other subject in the world, thats just mine and I'm going to stick with it.

Here is the thing.

Even with an automatic and the Hypertech raised limiter,I have hit the rev limiter on my 1-2 shift.

Under nitrous this is a dangerous thing. The rate that my truck climbs rpm in 1st, is crazy and that is with stock gears. When I put in my 373s the effect will become even more pronounced.

A window switch would solve this.

Truth be known, I have neither a window switch nor a low fuel pressure nitrous cutout.

I would just like people to weigh the risks and decide for themselves.

as I was about to say, and I think CalgarySS answered it before I asked....How often does an Automatic hit the rev limiter when shifting? I guess its different under the stress load of nitrous.:scary: But I do know several upstanding members who use Nitrous with Auto's w/WOT switches without any problems...Rhino, Cartman007, 98SSonNOS
