my 2.8 dime is acting retarded, i can start it and it will idle all day long no problems, but as soon as i put it into gear reverse or drive, it will stall out unless u keep pressing the gas. this is a problem where i live do to the insane amount of traffic lights, traffic jams, and stop signs. the only way i can keep it form stalling out is to put it in nuetral while i wait. but as soon as it is in gear i have to keep giving it gas, i have stalled out goign around corners, and just going down the road after i let off the gas. this weekend i am going to change the fuel filter, cap, rotor plugs and wires, it is about time anyway, is there anythign else i should check while i am under the hood? sorry for the novel and TIA

what year? carbed or TBI? need to know this before i can help
 
do a new fuel filter after 200000 miles they get dirty. I changed mine out and wow. I gotta fram see-thru before the metal filter and I gotta change it every couple months.
