im making a gas tank x member my bed is in the shop so .how much room is there between the bed and factory xmember . to set the highth on my new one i made. the one i made is 1 inch by 3 inch by 40 1/2 1/4 thick. will this work and 1/4 inch plates for the sides welded to the frame >

Ya know those frame horns that stick out off the frame??? 2-1/4" above those is the bottom of the bed.

actualy the horns are not the botem of the bed look at you bed upside down the( horns) sit on bed rail's and thay sit like a inch higher.but thanks
