Hey I'm planning on shaving my door handles but I don't know what pound solenoids to get. I know they have 15, 30, and 50. A guy on ebay is selling the 50lb ones for $100 and I think thats a great price. But what do you guys run? 50lb solenoids wouldn't hurt the door would they? I can't imagine they would. Also what about a safetly plan incase battery dies. I know Autoloc sells a cable you can buy and hide and just pull the cable to open your doors but I heard there was one with a lock on it so incase anyone found it they couldnt just pull it. Anyone know about this? Thanks in advance.

i suggest getting some kind of backup, because i have locked my remote in my truck 3 times. it blows.

i have 15 pounds, and have all kinds of trouble out of my drivers door, and i've re-installed the damn thing 3 times. passanger door works great everytime, but i suggest skipping the trouble, and get the 50 pounders. i put 45's on a buddy's ranger, and kicked myself for not getting those in the first place. i will be upgrading eventually.

i have been looking into this as well and i have heard that 35lb solenoids are more than sufficient, but if you can find 50s for cheaper than go for it. i haven't heard anything about a locable pull cable, but i am very interested, got any info on it?

Heres the cable but its not the one that locks. http://autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=SVERK

I want the one that locks and I heard it was out there but I don't know where it is. Was looking for any info from someone that might have seen it.

i have 35lb and its a daily driver. i havnt had any problems with them other than the bolt and nuts coming off and having to redo them. i have left my interior light on like 4 times and had to break in. other than that the 35 are deffinately enough. i dont have poppers yet but i dont know where to get them. auto locs are expensive i think so if anyone knows where to go to get them id apreciate it. thanks sorry to whore the thread. you prolly want to know to.

How can you have 35lb solenoids and no poppers? Im a lil confused now lol. As to where to get autoloc kits just look on ebay. There 50lb one is $119. Don't worry about whoring up my thread its all useful information.

Pretty sure drgnframe24 was referring to the 'spring' that pushes the door out after the solenoid releases the door latch. You can run w/o them, just have to pull on the door frame as u hit the button.

you dont want cheap poppers..cause you'll end up locked out of your truck. you can get poppers through viper, autoloc, SPAL, basically any company that sells alarms. they are about 30-50 dollars a piece.

well i saw some on one site(poppers) and i dont konw where they were only like 10bucks a piece.. im really tired of having to pull on my door when popping the door. if anyone knows where the cheapest place would be to buy them..thanks

if ur looking for cheap...a late 80's cutlass calais has them but they're plastic if you can grab some from the j-yard
