I have a 2002 Sonoma ZR2 4.3. I recently replaced the control arms and ball joints and had a professional shop look over the front end and do alignment. I was told, after control arms and ball joints, that everything was mechanically sound. When I picked the truck up, I noticed that the front wheels still had a substantial amount of negative camber. I asked the shop to double check and they say everything is fine but it looks very off. Any suggestions before I spend more money on a second opinion alignment? Much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. Most alignment equipment can provide a printout of the final settings for a job. Every front end job I've had done included one along with the invoice. I'd ask the shop for that to double check against specs. Sometimes things can 'appear' off yet actually be OK.

cracked me up.."render an unprofessional opinion"...I swear, 80+% of rhe post replies in this site are that, vs actual "help".....lol
And, sometimes that's all that can be done. Many times threads are started that lack complete information and/ or any sort of background and/or diagnostic efforts. There are a fair amount of knowledgeable and experienced members that can only do that, given what is, or isn't presented. And, conversely, there are also members that contribute half baked DIY 'solutions', opinions, or dubious 'shortcuts' or 'cures'. I have, on occasion, encountered 'unprofessional opinions' from even the "pros" at shops and/ or dealers, even when they have all of the data.

Most vehicles tend to handle better & have less outer tire wear with a certain amount of negative camber.
Not sure why GM produced so many vehicles with zero to positive camber from the factory... other than they want to build in substantial understeer.

I was hearing some commotion from my left front wheel, and found within the tire was beginning to cup. I took it to the arrangement shop, and they said that despite the fact that it drove entirely straight, the arrangement was off track to the right side. The tire wear affirms this. At the point when they set the arrangement accurately, the truck floats left. They attempted numerous arrangement machines, and traded the tires from one side to the next, it actually floats left. They said the likewise checked the control arms and everything is strong. My decision was a slight left float, or tires that cup from wrong arrangement. Has any other person experienced this with a ZR2?
