I have a 2000 zr2 2 door blazer, and I need help with the steering wheel controls and identifying what the 9 pin does on the radio on the picture.

First I was wondering if someone can help me diagnose why the steering wheel controls for the radio don’t work, and if you can help me figure what I can try.

And second what is this on the radio? What does it connect to?
Circuit component Gas Font Audio equipment Technology

The only inputs I have are the antenna and assumingly the power shown below, I understand that the 40 pin allows me to turn it on and use the speakers and whatnot but the only thing that doesn’t is the steering wheel controls for the volumes mute and radio signal

Thanks in advance if you know what I must do and I’ll answer any questions, I’m new to this so please and thanks!

Your 00 Blazer came with steering wheel controls? Is a 1995-2000 09383045 radio steering wheel control compatible?
I notice the wiring diagram above seems to be for a Bravada or Envoy, not a cheap Blazer.
The 9 pin is for earlier models that had a cassette deck in the console.
Crutchfield has steering wheel wiring adapters.

the actual radio would never work with the steering wheel control so maybe I was thinking I was missing something, And yeah now remembering the guy I bought the radio off of his blazer had a cassette deck in the console and no steering wheel controls, so you might be on to something as I might need to get a different radio with a different part number or get one that had a record of a steering wheel control.
