I was under my truck checking things out and i noticed the left hand inner cv moves around a lot . Not the cv itself but the shaft and flange that goes into the diff. This must be a pretty short shaft and the splined end must go into the carrier but there must be a bearing to support the left end of the shaft before it leaves the diff housing. Now i ask you how much play is allowed? The shop manual says nothing. Funny thing is it makes no noise and the seal doesn't leak any oil its sorta freaking me out. I expected that it would be rigid --> bearing pressed into the housing , shaft goes through bearing , seal between bearing and flange to keep the oil in. Am i wrong? With this much play you would think that both the bearing and maybe the shaft would be toast and that would eat the seal and make horrific grinding sounds. I'm confused and im trying to get a heads up before i go in there! Any help would be great. Thanks
