It will help if you are putting something on the motor like NOS or Supercharger but other than that it is small and squeezed liked that to keep alot of backpressure because the truck needs it. If you put a new y-pipe on you will loose alot of low end HP. I put headers on my truck with the stock y-pipe and I lost a little low end power but gained a ton of top end power.

I didn't loose any hp. I definately gained hp. I have the stock y-pipe but I have JBA headers and it does take away some of the low end power but more than makes up for it over 3000 rpm!!

Hey Vince Did you measure your backpressure? I just did mine: 5-6 psi @ 7-8psi boost. Poohy! I'm going to remove the small cat & change the Y. Then measure again.:D
