Hey everybody!! I am preparing to swap a '66 small journal 327 full roller with an Edelbrock Performer RPM cam, ported/polished double hump heads, forged pistons, rods and crank, 150 hp shot NOS, and am debating between an Edelbrock Pro Flo Multi-port system or a standard 700 cfm carb/single plane manifold setup. Any suggestions?? Well anyway, to my real question: Since my truck is a 96 x-cab (S-10 of course) and the motor is from a 66 Vette, it does not have all the computer stuff to match with my S-10 electronics. What I would like to do is keep the electronic cruise, A/C, heat, and gauges. I have examined wire diagrams and all of these systems tie into the PCM (computer). Everything else, ie. airbags, antilock, etc. appear to be stand alone systems. It seems to me that the only reason the gauges and cruise need the PCM is to connect to the speed sensor. Can I somehow connect the speed sensor directly to these two systems? I am not sure the connection with the A/C and heat. We rebuilt the stock 5 speed to stand up to the new motor so the stock speed sensor would still be in place (one of my good friends is an ASE transmision specialist! :D ). Well I think that wraps it up. Thanks for readin my x-long thread and for any help in advance!!

Well here's the thing, you could hook up and Speed sensor very easily threw a hall effect switch off of the cable driven transmission, BUT that is deffinately not all th computer looks at! It is relieing on TPS position, brake switch, map, transmission range. I would say you could easily get the AC and HEAT to work but as far as the gauges! GOOD LUCK you would need to get all the electronic sending units and not to mention the PCM to work, so as far as the gauges go your SOL sorry!
If I can help you further let me know THANKS
