Ok, today my windshield got chipped after having it 5 days!! My insurance company has a service where if your windshield gets chipped, they repair it for free as long as its smaller than a quarter. My chip is only about the size of a pea so I qualify. Anyways I was wondering what they do when they repair windshields? Is it a 100% fix or is it something that can stil crack? Eventually I will have a decent system, will that make any difference? Any info would be appreciated.

they use a dremel and drill a small hole in the center of the chip or crack...then they use a liquid that gets pressed into the hole and fills the entire crack or hole.it makes the window strong as new again and wil keep it form cracking.the repair is barely even visable.

They dont always use a dremel...if its still new/clean its better. But yeah they press/insert some gel compound that reacts with the UV rays and hardens the light refraction is nearly the same as the glas so its usually unoticable depending on the break of course. Itll keep the glass from crackin. My star i had fixed is starting to come back though...:(
