I would like to know which tranny I have in my 83 Blazer. I'm not sure if it's stock or not...how do I find out? I have a code that was stamped into the transmission pan-would this help?

If it is an auto it is a 700R4. If it is a manual its a T-5.

so what your saying is IF its stock, it would be the 700R4 (it IS auto)? The problem is, I don't know if its stock or not...

does it have over drive? ( a D with a circle around it) if it does it is a 700r4 also if u look under it and the pan is square it is one

thanks smartass but ford made an aod it was in the pick up till they came out with the aode and any way the axod is in the taurus till 93 then it bacame the axode
