Another Q!

Underneath the air cleaner, on the assembly itself, is a relatively large (compared to what else is in the engine bay) tube coming out of the base. On my truck, it's not hooked up to anything. The end is kind of chewed up on it, too. It's behind the MAP sensor. The truck seems to run fine without it hooked up to ???

This is on a 1987 with a 2.8 V6.

Thanks in advance!

if its a metalic tube it is a heater tube. when the engine is cold it will suck warm air thru that off the exhaust manafold.

look for a metal cover on your exhaust manafold and it should go on there.

Valve cover vent tube, huh? So, that vents right into the intake? Does that just connect into the rubber grommet in the valve cover or is there something else that goes in there?

The PCV is on the other side, that's all hooked up.

Tha_boom: I know what you're talking about, it's not that. This one is about 3/8" in diameter.

Thanks again.
