Hi, I’m new here, and I have a ‘01 Xtreme that I’d like to turn into a corner carver rather than a drag car. I was just wondering if anyone has a flush set-up on their Xtreme. I’ve seen a few online, but no info with them.

Getting the wheels/tires flush on an Xtreme is no easy task due to the width of the flares.
Once you get them out wide enough, you will likely hit the fenders severely when turning.
You would need to keep the tire diameter very small & the vehicle high which is counterproductive to good handling.

If you really want a corner carver, forget trying to portray an "image" & focus on quality suspension upgrades.

Your vehicle looks good already. Maybe drop it a bit more & get better springs & shocks.

Lose lots of weight, get the weight distrubution closer to 50/50, take weight off anything overhanging front or rear axle lines, lower center of gravity.

50/50 weight is in my opinion always most important, especially considering the center of gravity is already fairly low on an xtreme. shocks and springs being properly paired is right up there though. currently it is a bit tough sledding to pair new oem z87 shocks and zq8/z87 springs due to availability or whatever... there may be better options than the oem-z stuff though, i would just imagine that you will be paying big money for negligible gains though.

do you have somethin hiding under that there shaker ya got there? most are just for looks and i agree that it does look better, that hood does. i always planned to get that one but here i am with burned up clearcoat on my stock hood and just planning to re-paint it come spring...

i cant remember exactly but i vaguely recall reading that blazers were close to 50/50 weighted stock depending on the size, location, and mounting mechanism of the spare tire... dont quote me on that though.

sadly you may well be better off throwing more money at your motor at the moment (if stock)... i would imagine electric fans will be an easy power gain if you havent already been there done that.

nice lookin blazer regardless

You do realize that the Xtreme Blazers are not equipped with the ZQ8 suspension...It has the Z87.

is that right? im an xtreme man but not an xtreme blazer man, so i am sure you are correct. thanks for the correction.
the two xtreme blazers ive briefly driven and the other one ive ridden in seemed like the suspension was par with the zq8 thats in the s10 xtreme... i always assumed they were the same.
hopefully the xtreme blazer folks are able to source their stock shocks and springs better than we can with the xtreme s10... because 'bang for the buck'-wise the stock ones are probably the best bet for replacing 15+ yr old originals...

Not sure exactly how "flush" you want to be of if you plan on lowering more. That makes a big difference. As stated, the flares add to the challenge. I trimmed the inside of the rear flares for additional clearance. Full suspension is done and this thing sticks!

Fronts are 18x8.5 (-6 offset) with 245/45/18 Michelins. Rears are 20x9.5 (0 offset) w/295/45/20's. Original rear's were/are 18x9.5 (0 offset) with 275/40/18's.

I wanted to get a bigger tire in the rear and just happened to get a good deal on some matching 20x9.5" wheels. Had a tiny bit of rubbing on the inner wells, but nothing that could not be fixed with a TLC from a 2 lb sledge hammer.

Thanks! Nice pickup! Was my original plan, but I have a 4x4 and decided I needed a car. This is my Camaro/Chevelle/Nova.... 😉

Build thread over here. Everything is ready, but still a year or so away from the engine trans. Northeast

That's the correct way to do it.... make it handle & stop before you add a bunch of HP.

To the OP... SSandfish shared a good build thread for wheel fitment & suspension upgrades on a Blazer.
Lots of good info here.
