its a connector that runs along the very bottom under the radiator it is 2 wire black and green wires , it should be connected to something but on my truck it is severed I am intending to soldering it directly just wondering what it is for before I do that.

Moved top Electrical/Lighting.

Make sure you look at the different sub forums to see what's available, then choose the one that best fits your issue.

Have you tried everything electrical to see what does or doesn't work? A pic would be helpful.

so far it has a abs light on due to a rear caliper leaking other than that the heater controls are all jacked it only works on speed 123 on 4 it turns off I a sure I will have a lot more work to do there. I will take a pic soon, thanks

it goes to that connecter in the 2nd picture it connects pretty much behind that tow hook on the passenger side (to the left of the license plate area)

That appears to be the air bag sensor for the passenger side frame rail.
02 4wd "w crew" ? do you mean it is a crew cab 4 door pick up? (from your other posting)
An S10 can be a ZR2 and an LS, since LS in mostly an interior trim package. The LS exterior trim is over ridden by being a ZR2 so you get plain painted bumpers instead of the LS chrome with rub strips.
If it's a crewcab, they never ever offered the ZR2 option on those. You can buy ZR2 decals on eBay.
The crewcab had it's own ZR5 package which other than great wheels was a bunch of cheesy trim. Has nothing to do with off road use.
A leaky rear caliper will not cause an ABS light. The rear wheel sensor for their ABS is the vehicle speed sensor which is in the transfer case if you have one, the trans if you don't. The rear ABS applies and releases both back wheels at the same time since they don't effect steering.
I'd suspect a front ABS sensor on one of the wheels, since that's the most common cause for an ABS light.
A good scanner capable of reading ABS would tell you exactly what the issue is. You might want to look and see if either of them are unplugged at the connector on top of the frame rails. Just follow the wires back from the hubs.
If the only fan speed you don't have is hi, it's probably the 30A HVAC fuse in the under hood fuse box. That's the only thing that fuse controls. If that's good then it's the high fan relay which is located towards the drivers side above the heater box. Check the connectors on that for signs of overheating. Earlier models would burn them off because wires weren't heavy enough to carry the amperage load.
It's not the resistor or the motor or you wouldn't have the other speeds. Nor the inside HVAC fuse.

What hubs? It has a live axle... you have to pull the bearings out with a slide hammer. Fun job.

Thank you OLDEERSLAYER! I have a problem with ABS on my 03 4WD and have suspected it was with one or both front wheel hub rings but maybe it was rear brakes. I think I can rule out rear brakes now. And thanks for that info on the fan speeds. I don't have that problem but it may prove useful in the future.

I am trying to figure what it really is since I want to replace the shocks and there is a difference between some models. it has the bumpers like u say of the non zr2 but it also has the allows of the zr2 and the stickers. the vin decoder says its zr2 as well but I don't know if the site is reputable. aside going to the dealer any other places I can check to find out?
