I HAVE HAD THIS CONVERSATION A MILLION TIMES AND NO REAL FOUNDATION OF VALUE.

I HAVE 3 PLOW TRUCKS. NOT TO MENTION THESE MOUNTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. AND RANGE 1,000 TO 1600 TO SLAP TOGETHER NOT COUNTING THE LABOR

2001 SONOMA 145K GOOD CONDITION
1998 BRAVADA 137K VERY GOOD CONDITION
1996 BLAZER 135 K GOOD CONDITION

WHAT ARE THESE WORTH IN VALUE, HOW MUCH DO THE PLOW SETUPS REALLY ADD.

I'D APPRECIATE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS. IM THINKING ABOUT BUILDING THEM AND FLIPPING THEM

IMO adding a plow setup would be like adding a class IV hitch receiver. Idiots think it adds value, but smart car buyers know it's been used for heavy towing.
you are definitely right though but some people know there hard to find especially the ones on small trucks and are left with no choice but to pay up. you cant run a big boy through a residential property and get a quick 100 for 20 minutes of your day vs 45 on a big truck you cant maneuver.

worth ? all depends on when, where and who. i was delegated the mechanic's duty in a company i worked for as a young man back in 1976. we had a 71 suburban with a plow that was past it's usefulness and i placed an add in the paper to sell it. one day later it sold for 1600.00. 1976 dollars mind you. i paid 900.00 for my 67 chevelle super sport a year prior. your trucks are worth whatever and whenever someone will pay.

i just paid 500.00 dollar for a used s10 blazer mount after wasting weeks looking it finally popped up and then 500.00 for the plow side no wiring no controllers, luckily i had that if i bought it it be another 500 for 1500.00 in just a set up for this truck lets say the blazer is worth minimum 2500 were at 4000.00 is 5500 to much to get a perfectly running s10 blazer with a plow and not justified?

If I see a plow truck for sale I see a transmission rebuild coming soon and possibly an engine. Plow trucks are abused and often worked very hard which is not what an S10 is designed for to begin with these are light duty trucks even though they are capable.

Only thing I can say is be honest about the trucks, maintenance history, etc and put them on the market for a bit more but then what they typically go for in your area and allow the price to be negotiated and see what offers you get.

Blade, controls, electrical, and mounting bracket sells for $300

Any complets air cleaner to oil pan 4.3 is worth $200
Transmission and transfer case $50
All doors and tailgate $100
Rims and tires $100
All seats $50
Hood $50
Rear axle $50
Gauge cluster $50
Steering column $50
Rest is scrap for $100

Lets call it $1100 for something you can take up to 70mph to prove the transmission shifts right, diff is not junk, tires are ok, and the engine does not have headgasket or oil issues.
If the above is not the case subtract prices as needed.

Lower mileage is actually worse then a higher mileage plow truck. I have a 87 V10(squarebody 1/2 4x4) that was a plow truck. Every spark plug broke in 2 when removing them. The thing has bad valve seals. The frame and body are rusted. It has around 110k. I use it as a yard truck and basically a junk truck. The 700r4 just keeps working. I rebuilt the axles, put a fuel tank inside the cab, built a bed, and threw some paint on it. Its my back up back up winter beater because its actually great in deep 4-8" of snow. I burn around 1 quart in 100 miles its that bad. But for deep snow where I may get slammed into or times when I want to haul stuff thats to heavy for the s10 and not heavy enough for the R30. Its my go to.

where do you live if you dont mind me asking. im sure in some places they are somewhat more common. now the big trucks 1500 2500 3500 f150s etc thats cheap there so abundant its the tacomas, the blazers, cherokees ford rangers that will kill you. up here i'll get a whole full truck set up 650-1000 all day

if you can find one over here for the light duties they are not common at all the truck side mounts. If you find it the range is always from 350 to 450 i had to pay up because a big company sold used ones hence the 500 (storks auto) the unimount plows 6.00-6.50 footers only not 7 or bigger people are asking 400 to even 1,000 for some (ny ct pa nj) the wires 50 and 100-250 a plow controller. it always lands in the 1,000 to 1500 range.
