Hey i want to get an alarm sometime and i dont think i need anything too fancy, but i want keyless entry, which i think even cheapo ones have extra channels that you can use on them, anyway, what are some good brands and brands to stay away from?

I know this may sound funny but audiovox alarms are really solid

I actually had a Prestige (AudioVox) alarm on my 89 s-10, it had dual stage shock sensor, remote start(didnt hook it up, couldnt figure it out), and two three button remotes, i think i paid right under 100 bucks for it, i might see if my bro-in-law can get me the hook up from hh gregg on one of these.

Nah mine had these sorta L shaped black remotes with one big green button and two smaller black buttons.

Yea i like the lcd screen remote this one has, kinda cool, i just think Viper's are too overpriced, i'd a comparable one would be at least 100 bucks more.

I see, i think i might just go with the prestige anyway, but i dont know if ill try to hook up the remote start though.
