Hey i want to get an alarm sometime and i dont think i need anything too fancy, but i want keyless entry, which i think even cheapo ones have extra channels that you can use on them, anyway, what are some good brands and brands to stay away from?

I know this may sound funny but audiovox alarms are really solid
I actually had a Prestige (AudioVox) alarm on my 89 s-10, it had dual stage shock sensor, remote start(didnt hook it up, couldnt figure it out), and two three button remotes, i think i paid right under 100 bucks for it, i might see if my bro-in-law can get me the hook up from hh gregg on one of these.

DEI is the best out there. And as much as I hate programing Audiovox alarms, and their crappy tech support......their alarm, alarm/remote starter combos are pretty solid. If you do go Audiovox, just make sure its a model with seperate shock sensors.....they can be set VERY sensative
