I am lifting my 1992 gmc Sonoma a total of 8 inches 5" suspension and 3" body lift, I am running 3.42 gears with a 5 speed manual I wanna go with the tallest tire possible any suggestions please

With that much lift, you could 33s with some minor fender trimming or maybe 35s. With 3.42, you'll wear your transmission out quickly.. At this point, why not just SAS it and run as big of tires as you want?

My truck already has a 5 inch trailmaster lift on it I'm adding a 3 inch body to it i might sas it later but right now it's just not in the cards for me

I had 31” with 3.42s, I didn’t like it at all. Ease of Proper gearing was one fo the reasons for going through with a solid axle swap.

I struck gold I got a used rear axle and a remanufactured front diff with 4.10 gears I got a set of 33x12.50 on it now but the clearance is pretty close I like the width but might need to go down with the hight suggestions

3.42 good to 28". Taller tire needs appropriate re gear to maintain same mech leverage or feeling of 'doggieness' on accell ensues. Appropriately re-sized brakes also advised as brakes must first overcome the wheel/tire inertia which larger/heavier size tires increase yugely.
Otherwise brake 'feel' and stopping distance greatly deteriorated.

Had 33s with 3.42s for like a month, not an enjoyable ride. Went with 4.56s and it was much better.
