my 95 sonoma truck that I totally custimized myself was destroyed this past monday. I was stoped at a red light, guy slammed me from behind at 40+mph he never applied the brakes, he was driving a red jeep cheroke early 90's. He fled the scene, a witness got his plate, he's in big shit with the cops. There was a car infront of me that's why there is front end damage. The truck will probably be totaled!

hit me that hard the rear window blew out, here's a better pic of the cab area, somehow the bed got pushed into the cab on both sides and left this imprint, probably what helped blowing the rear window out and the front hood latch bracket got pushed through the radiator and mangled the core-support and inner hood framing and fender mounting. can't really tell this from an outside picture, would need close ups of engine bay area.

attached is a pic of the damage to the cab from bed being pushed into it, I can't give an accurate speed, but I know this the dude never applied brakes and it was on a section of highway that had traffic lights (us-30) and this dude had to be ****in movin to make the frame of the truck flex enough for the bed to do this to the cab, because the bed is still bolted to the frame and will not slide forward, to match up to the damaged points on the cab; however the bed and cab has its what looks to be factory gap, hence the frame must have flexed to let bed damage the cab this way, hence this dude had to be affin movin to make a solid frame flex that much.

Not calling you a liar, but I would expect a LOT more damage from getting rear ended at 40 mph. Sucks either way though.
Looks like the hitch receiver took the brunt of the impact and helped transfer it to the frame.

I sat and watched someone going 45 mph rear-end a Pontiac Bonnevile, maybe a 2006-7 model, and there was almost no visible damage to the back of the car. Weird stuff happens...

That sucks man, You had a nice looking truck too! :(
You know I never understand why people leave the scene of an accident, Especially to the fact that most people have back up cameras and dash cam's. Hell even people with cell phone camera's, I mean how stupid are you? Not to mention If you kill someone and leave *shakes head*

Most likely he bailed cause he was either drunk or high on something, Either way that guy Is prob In jail right now.

Hi, sorry about your loss. If the feller has no insurance, you can take him to small claims court. Sure for the value (parts and labor) of your custom work, whatever above the insurance claim amount if there is insurance.
