Yea, the sealer goes on the water pump side of the gasket...not on the block side...if yours is a 2.8 be careful if it has torx head bolts on it...I stripped one of mine out and had to grind the water pump off to get to the bolt to get it backed out.

i just recently replaced my waterpump, there are no torx bits besides one large one for the tensioner. I put sealer on both sides of the gasket to be sure...make sure u scrape the old stuff away real good. but mine works great no leaks

Nope, they are 3/8" bolts. Also the pump's rotation is counter clockwise.

I have used this one for at least 4/5 years along with a this GM part 10220957
It is a 170 * t-stat. Works great with all the crap I put my old ride through.
