Does anyone know how to tell if you have vortec heads. Im thinking of replacing my intake manifold for a high peerformance oneand it requires non-vortec heads. Im totally customizing my 97 chev s10 sportside. Any info would be helpful. My engine size is 4.3 Vortec V-6

There's still a lot you can do, you can do all the head work, and do all the external bolt-ons, and a cam and roller valvetrain as well. Any Qs just post, somebody out here knows the answer

If your just lookin to change to a carb look at the manifold from
a 4.3 vortec marine motor. But there are a ton of other changes
you will have to make. Rember everything is controlled by the
computer including your trans.

Carb Manifold

Go to any place that sells boats, find one with the manifold, get
the part number,go to a chevy dealer and order it.Or a GM performance Parts house. Heres a pic of the motor.
