I was wondering if anybody had ever put the new trailblazer engine in an S10. This engine produces 275 horsepower and 275 lbs. of torque and is about the same size as the 4.3 V6 (4.2L). I see people putting 350 V8s in the S10, so it must be possible. Its hypothetical but it would be badass.

i was almost positive that the only way you could put it in an s10 was by extending the engine bay, i believe this is why it is not an option in the colorado.

Correct, a V8 is only 4 cylinders deep where as the I6 is 6 thats way too deep for our sloped nosed little s trucks.

ya, im thinking the same reason as what 02gmczq8 said, 4 deep instead of 6. im no expert at swaps though, but after all the trouble of trying to fit an I6 in its probably more worth it to just go for the v8.

That straight 6 is too long and too tall for the S-10.
I had the engine free, from a new wreck, and it just won't fit.
