hello friends,
i have been reseraching remote start systems for my 02 s10 4.3 LS 4wd. i happened to stumble across the Viper 4105V remote start system. i have a few questions pertaining to the system.

1.) will my factory power locks work with the remote
2.) will i need an immobilizer to overide GM passlock

thanks,
Josh

1.) yes
2.) Shouldn't need one.
BTW Viper strongly recommends professional installation. For good reason. Most DIY installs end up not working properly. If you look at the instructions included with the kit, they're are not vehicle specific because they'll work in so many different vehicles. A Pro would have access to both complete wiring diagrams for the vehicle and info from Viper or other installation information.

Looked them up. They agree with Viper. They will help you find a dealer for pricing and to install it.
Can I install my Compustar system myself?

We would not recommend installing a Compustar remote start or alarm system yourself unless you are a trained 12-volt installer.
Remote starters are much more complex to install than other vehicle electronics because of how they integrate with your engine's starting mechanism. Improper installation can potentially result in harm to your vehicle.
