Can anyone tell me if putting a dash from a 2001 into 1991? Will I create more problems than cures?

Not sure what you're trying to cure, but 2001 dash isn't going to help or fix anything.

Unless you can figure out a way for your 91 S10 to generate class 2 serial data there's no way it'll work. Only analog gauge on a 2001 is oil pressure.

It is the design of the newer dash I was after and knew I'd have to build an instrument cluster from scratch. Just wondering if it will mount in the same as the older ones.

No it won't bolt right in. The cabs are entirely different.
