Under-Dash Plugs 1991 S10 Originally 4 cylinder, Now V8 TBI

I put a 1979 305 in my truck some years ago. I've been running a QuadraJet since then, but I'm converting it to TBI. I have a 220 throttle body with 305 injectors in it, with the popular ECM that ends in "747," and an aftermarket wiring harness from Affordable Fuel Injection.

One seemingly minor thing I'm trying to figure out is what to do with the 10-conductor two-row plug under the dashboard/glove compartment that's paired with the longer single-row plug. The original ECM/ECU had a sort of junction box that was ATTACHED to, but not WIRED to it. It's a white translucent plastic box about 3"x3" and a half inch thick. It has two sockets on it, one of which accepts the longer plug, but the other socket is only 4 pins, single row. I transferred this box from the old ECU to the new, and it fit perfectly.

Both this junction box and the wiring harness are the factory originals, so it's a mystery why 1) there is no dangling 4-pin plug to match the socket, and 2) there is no socket that matches the 10-pin plug!

Can anybody clear this up for me? I'd much appreciate it.

If it's any help, this truck is a "stripper" fleet vehicle (rubber floor mats, short cab, white paint etc.) so it has the minimum gauges and didn't even come with a radio. The original owner did add an aftermarket stereo to it.

Thanks in advance!

Richard

Sorry, I should have included that the first time, but I got lazy. Here it is:

Wow, nobody in this group knows what this plug is for?

that is your drac module for speedo / vss control

Interesting!

Do you have any idea if there needs to be anything connected to the smaller of the two sockets on the DRAC for it to function? In my case, this a stripper Fleet vehicle, so anything not essential was deleted.
Very informative link, complete with pinouts, description of function, etc.

Use this Google link to see all the information about a very simple modification of the DRAC to calibrate the speedo with your combination of rear axle ratio, tire size, etc.

I see that the smaller socket is for use by a Speed Control, which explains why my stripper model doesn't have anything to plug in. Good to know it's there if I add this in the future.

Thanks again!
Mine is a 1990 commercial base model as well.
