I looked all through the forum but i cant find the answer. I have the rockford fosgate fanatic p component system. the mids are 6.5. My problem is that when i listen to the fm radio the tweeters are distorted. But when i listen to a cd they are fine. They are running off an eclipse head unit putting like 22 watts rms to them. The crossovers are kind of cheapy though. I was wondering if i put an amp to them if they would be better. thanks :chomp:

Tweeters only produce really high notes when they are playing, like guitars and voices and stuff. Radios make alot of static even with a seemingly perfect signal. The tweeters are most likely ampilfying the distortion cause they only pick up the really high stuff, alot of which is probably static.

Get a better antenna and try an amp, although the alternator whine might be just as bad as the static.......
