I have been searching here for answers but there is nothing about my problem. When the AC is on there is a slight surge. I dont know what to check, any ides?

Yeah, I have it on my truck as well. When I first got it, it didn't seem to do that for the first three years. But the last couple of years when the compressor would cycle, I would hear a squeak and the rpm's would dip. Still blows cold air.

The stealership tried to convince me it was the clutch on the compressor, and for a mere $700 they could fix it.

I replaced the compressor myself, for much much cheaper mind you but using the same parts they do, only to discover it still surges. It's not the clutch.
Dunno what causes it. Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes it's not.
I'd be curious to some insight on this as well. It's annoying.

i had some what the same problem,the truck would have a little surge when the ac kicked on and off.i just put on a efan and i dont feel it doing it anymore,i think with the strain of the ac and clutch fan it was causing the problem
