i can get a 86 tpi 305 harness and all for 200? is it worth swaping it onto my mild 400sb or keeping my carb im lookin for performance not fuel savings ive ben told tpi is grerat for torque

TPI and performance are oxymorons. TPI was designed for the 305, not your 400. Will it work, yup. Will you hit a wall at 4000RPM, yup. So if your idea of performance is below 4000RPM, go for it.

If you want performance out of it, and the EFI, just buy the stuff and swap it on. Then buy a Holley Stealthram ($600 for everything to install it) and then youll get some performance.

not necessarily... i`ve gotten ported factory TPI manifold equipped 350 vettes to break into the high 12`s in the 1/4. on street tires, 3.07 gears, and the factory PROM still in the ECM...

and i`ve got a friend who has a 406 equipped vette with Accel TPI base and AS&M big tube runners, that has come dangerously close to breaking into the 11`s..... he shifts at 4700 rpms....:eek:
