Trying to install lowering torsion keys on a 1993 S10. They are rusted stuck on the torsion bar. I tried beating on them with a hammer but they are not budging. They got loose from the a-arms in the front but not coming out of the keys.

Someone on youtube showed how he had to cut a chunk from the crossmember to make space for the bar to slide out of there so he could work on it on a work bench and then he cut a slit in the keys to release pressure and that let him get them off.

I am thinking to do that as a last resort.

Does anybody else have any other ideas before I do that?
