Not mine.

Search I had set up from when I was looking 2019-2020 yielded this dealership sale. Very few options, but does have the 4.3L, 17K miles, and the 7 ½’ box. Year is listed as 2003, but I thought last year the “long bed” was offered was 2001. VIN indicates 2003. That confuses me. If it is mechanically and cosmetically solid with a clean title, that actually seems like a good price. Maybe some haggling could drive it down even more. Could potentially provide someone 200k-300k miles of daily driving.

Google GMC Sonoma, you'll see the difference. That is the hood they used on the S10/Blazer and Bravada.
Holy cow. That is ridiculous. An S10 and Sonoma have been sitting in my driveway for a year. Wow, I generally am very detail-oriented. Maybe dementia is creeping up on me.

So, that truck in the ad has some “history”.

There is some misinformation out there about the 2003 not being available in a long box, but the GM Heritage Center lists a longbox option for 2003. Since they're connected to GM I'd trust them. That and the fact you're looking at one.
For as clean as the rest of the truck is I'm a bit surprised by the pic of the engine compartment. Pretty dirty for 17K.
I'd ask the seller for a car fax since he's asking a pretty hefty price for a truck w/ 0 options. It's not even an LS, so it has the luxurious rubber flooring.
There are sites where you can run the vin to get a list of the RPO numbers to see what options it does have.
Compnine charges $5 to do 5 vehicles.

Finding specific info at the GM Heritage Center site is difficult, but I did find a 2003 S10 dealer brochure (vehicle information kit). As you stated, long box is listed; with regular cab 2WD only. That is surprising to me as the 2003 consumer sales brochures I have in PDF do not list that as an option. So, I learned a couple of different things. Oddly, that S10 dealer’s brochure appears to have a photo of a Quad Cab Short Box dual rear wheel truck on the first page. Strange.

I'm aware that used vehicle prices have been creeping upward, but IMO I think the asking price is a bit high for the truck (apparently a base model from what I can see in the listing photos), even considering the low mileage. And I agree with post #2 regarding the hood - that raises some questions for me. My fully loaded '03 SLS Sonoma extended cab 4x4 (w/ bed liner & camper shell on 6.5' bed) was thousands less (about 2 years ago) than this one, and the odometer had about average mileage on it. I also concur with the comments in post #7. Even KBB 'build' for this truck (using Lenoir City area zip) doesn't support the asking price - but a vehicle is pretty much worth whatever the seller and buyer agree upon. I'd do some serious due diligence on this truck and also pursue some serious price negotiating if you wish to pursue it.

Region-dependent. Posters pointed out some questionable details. However, if it were well-sorted, I think the price would be, at a minimum, reasonable for MI. So must rust rot up here.
