Hello everyone, quick question. I just did an oil change on my 2003 sonoma with 95k m/ 4.3l used penzoil platinum full synthetic high mileage filled up the right amount and turned it on and ticked for 5 seconds and went away, wanting to make sure if its normal.

Side note, what oil do you all recommend?

Takes a second for the fresh oil to cycle through the engine after you drained it so the lifters we're probably dry...if it was only just after the oil change I wouldn't worry about it, but if it keeps coming back you might have something going on.

As far as what oil, I'd use new stuff...the old stuff tends to be dirty...just kidding. Follow the recommendations on the truck and you shouldn't go wrong...synthetic should last longer between oil changes but once you go synthetic it isn't good to go back to the regular stuff as it's not good on the seals, or so I've heard.

yeah..if ya didnt pre-fill the oil filter before install (most dont, cuz it's messy and mostly ineffective, since the filter installs on its side), that's common and normal...as far as oil choice? it's like women-we all have our preferences..yeah, we'd love an Emily Ratajakowski, but ole plain Jane works too ;-)
